Increase Efficiency of Purchase Plan

The re-design of supply planning for purchased parts aims to reduce manual work for purchase planners and more reliable commitments from suppliers by replacing MRP planning in ECC/S4H by a new planning concept in IBP Order based planning. Manual work is reduced via tailor-made planning views, alerts and re-scheduling proposals for existing purchase orders in IBP. More reliable commitments from suppliers are obtained via a stabilized purchase plan; a plan which is ‘flat’ over time and which remains the same or similar week-on-week. This stabilized purchase plan is realized by decoupling production and procurement in a smart way. This limited decoupling also buffers production from disruptions in the supply of the purchased parts.
